2 teens wanted for rape fall in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY – The police have arrested two teenage rape suspects in separate operations conducted by Police Regional Office in Caraga (PRO-13) operatives, an official said Monday.
Capt. Dorothy Tumulak, PRO-13 public information officer, identified the arrested suspects as 19-year-old Junrey Salimbot, and Brian Claro, 18.

Tumulak said Salimbo was arrested in Barangay San Juan, Bayugan City, in Agusan del Sur by the joint police and Army operatives through an arrest warrant on Sunday, while Claro was collared on the same day in Barangay Payasan, Lianga, Surigao del Sur.

The two suspects are classified as “most wanted persons” at the regional level, he said.

“Both suspects are now under the custody of the police stations where they were arrested. The crime they were charge of is non-bailable,” Tumulak said.

In a statement Monday, Brig. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., PRO-13 director, vowed the police will continue the anti-criminality drive despite the threat of the coronavirus disease.

“Amidst the several responsibilities being conducted by our police personnel during this fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the efforts to account and arrest all persons sought by law continue in Caraga,” Caramat said. (PNA)
