34 new recoveries logged among OFs: DFA


MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday reported 34 new recoveries from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among overseas Filipinos (OFs), bringing its total to 7,170.

Of the total recoveries, 1,224 are logged in the Asia Pacific, 943 in Europe, 4,537 in the Middle East/Africa, and 466 in the Americas.

The DFA also recorded 26 more infections and eight fatalities among Filipino nationals, raising the confirmed cases to 11,108 and the death toll to 810.

The active cases are currently pegged at 3,128, with at least 501 undergoing treatment in the Asia Pacific, 171 in Europe, 2,290 in the Middle East/Africa, and 166 in the Americas.

To date, the Middle East remains to be the region with the most number of confirmed Covid-19 cases with 7,355, fatalities with 528 as well as recoveries and under treatment.

The Americas has the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions, except in the total number of deaths where it has at least 178; the Asia Pacific ranks lowest with nine. (PNA
