COTABATO CITY – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim in Mindanao (BARMM) has registered 37 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of Monday, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported.

“Efficient contact-tracing and the immediate isolation of confirmed cases contributed much to the encouraging trend in the number of recoveries in the region lately,” said Dr. Amirel Usman, MOH-BARMM acting minister.

Ten new confirmed cases were also reported in the region on the same day.

“We should continue not to be complacent as we work together to defeat the virus,” Usman said as he called on the BARMM constituency for cooperation.

Of the 10 new cases, Basilan recorded six while Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur listed two patients each.

As of Monday, BARMM has a total of 1,362 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic was declared in March this year, with 976 recoveries, active cases, and 53 deaths. (PNA)
