NOCPPO awarded anew as top police unit in Western Visayas

BACOLOD CITY – For the fourth consecutive month since June, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) has been recognized by the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) as the region’s top performing unit.

For the month of September, NOCPPO garnered 93.14 converted total rating to place number one among the eight units evaluated for both operational and administrative performance.

Col. Romy Palgue, police provincial director, said on Tuesday that credit goes to the hard work of the police personnel assigned in the headquarters and in all police stations.

He also acknowledged the support of the provincial government and the local government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental to the police force.

“During the awarding rites, the other units say that NOCPPO is number one because its LGUs are supportive. That is true,” said Palgue, who assumed as the province’s police chief on the first week of June.

The monthly Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) is based on the following parameters – police-community relations, human resource and doctrine development, intelligence, operations, investigation, plans, research, logistics, information and communications technology, personnel management, and finance.

In June, Negros Occidental PPO had a rating of 86.70; July, 90.69 percent; and August, 89.44.

The rating is comprised of 50 percent operational and 50 percent administration performance.

Meanwhile, the Antique PPO ranked second with a rating of 91.17 percent; Iloilo City Police Office, 90.30; Iloilo PPO, 90.23; Capiz PPO,89.59; Aklan PPO, 89.04; Guimaras PPO, 88.94; Bacolod City Police Office, 86.79; and Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6, 81.45.

The September rankings showed the Aklan PPO dropping by four notches to sixth place after placing second in July and August. The Antique PPO climbed to second place after ranking third in July and fourth in August. (PNA)
